Infection Control

Infection controls and universal precautions protect clients and staff alike. Everyone benefits from rigorous infection control — you, your dentist, and the dental team.

Dr. Clardy and our entire team follow procedures recommended by several federal agencies: the Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). These measures include:

  • Disinfectant hand soap
  • Gloves and face masks
  • Chemical disinfection of countertops and surfaces
  • Sterilization of all equipment before every use
  • Disposable materials

We sterilize all reusable equipment, including dental hand pieces. We use an autoclave, a device that kills bacteria and viruses by steam, heat and pressure.

When Dr. Clardy’s office was built he had a water treatment system installed which carries purified water to all treatment rooms as well as distilled water to our sterilization room.  This system provides high quality water for our patients as well as providing water free of contaminants for our dental equipment.

ON-DEMAND AUTOCLAVE AND TREATED DENTAL WATER

The Sterisil System produces distilled quality water to zero TDS ppm for use in autoclaves as well as treated dental water to keep your dental unit water lines virtually free of bacteria.

Designed conveniently to fit into sterilization center cabinetry or mounted on a wall, and is scalable to treat 1 to 100+ dental chairs.
