Sedation Dentistry
Dr. Clardy completed a General Practice Residency after graduating from the dental program at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. During this two year program he received advanced sedation training at both the University Hospital in San Antonio and Scott and White Hospital in Temple. Dr. Clardy obtained his state board certification in IV sedation, enteral oral conscious sedation, and nitrous oxide anesthesia and maintains that state certification. He regularly attends continuing education courses in patient monitoring and sedation techniques.
Several levels of anesthesia are available. The method of anesthesia that is chosen for you depends on your health history, personal preferences and type of surgery. There are several factors that must be taken into consideration when selecting which anesthesia option is right for the patient.
